Fantasy In (A) Papaya

Located in Ladprao soi 55/2, Papaya Furniture Warehouse is a must-visit place for tourists or locals who fall deeply in love with stuffs belonged to the (good) old time. The three-storey warehouse is jammed with artistic, cool, weird, cute, dusty, even broken and useless things. It ranges from headless mannequins to 1930-ish telephones, from almost broken airplane chairs to adorable china vases, from mascot of Star Wars’ Master Yoda to James Dean’s statue, etc…

I would love to spend days and days there ;)

I would love to spend days and days there 😉

At first it seems that the owners have arranged specific areas based on the origins of the items – Roman, China, Thailand, Modern America… But after a close inspection, I found out it’s all messed up there. The messiness makes Papaya warehouse more charming – you can always meet the unexpected and find yourself in awesome surprises. I felt like riding a roller-coaster back to my childhood, indulging myself in fairy and magical worlds that I once always dreamed of living in. It’s also a fun game trying to imagine where the stuffs came from, how they ended up being here. Everything surely has a story behind…
